Either those children are really short or he's standing on something! Looking at that angle is great because you can see more of the dust and the children fill the middle band of the land - otherwise their heads would have been inline with the horizon which would not have had the same effect.
It looks so joyful and excited. Can't work out if there's s football in there or if it's a dance or game of tig etc.
Steve McCurry photos are a real inspiration for me. He is able to both promote the personality of the people as well as showing his understanding of the cultures he is working with. He blog is well worth a long review.
