Going to work part 1

  1. What strikes me looking at these photos, is how powerful black and white is. The two B&W photos seem to convey far more atmosphere than the colour - perhaps they are more timeless. We are all seduced by lovely colours but that is a lesson to me. I feel like going back and converting all my photos. Would I be right in thinking coffee is important to your mornings?

  2. I like the cereal bowl. There's something really nice about the layout of the items. I find the cereal itself a gritty link to the purpose of the essay - it's important, but it immediately speaks to my appetite (good) but at the time of seeing the photos, this doesn't appeal and I can't help thinking the photo would be really nice without it! (so in summary: great photo, but I don't fancy any myself right now!)

I like the halo-ed shower and the contrasting colours of the coffee machine, which speaks to my own routine and makes me want it to produce its output faster!

I think the travel photos with the bike should have included some movement.

  3. I was a bit confused by the last set of shots, I am assuming that the picture of you leaven the door was the last in the series and the other two bike pictures are standalone?, if not I am not sure why there are two black and white pictures as this is jarring against the colour.

I really like the second picture as it tick so many boxes for getting up in one picture from the composure, I like the hint of the refection on the leaving picture it would have been good to see if there was any way you could have got more of you/the person in the reflection as I liked that you can see the same seen from two prospective.
