  1. The grammer phone and garden photos gives the viewer an impression of your interests, from a subbtle perspective, really interesting. The first photo you captured the light well but I feel in black and white you could have got the crome and vinal appering stronger. and more contrasting.

  2. Thanks, Alexandros. Agree about the gramophone - I have other pics of it where I've taken that approach. For me this one was more about home than the object, which is right in front of a modern hifi speaker - representing something of a contradiction.

  3. I love those chimney pots against the threatening sky and the twigs with their plumping buds both very atmospheric

And a wind up gramophone! That takes me back!

You have created great contrast between the poppy seed head with the out of focus daffs

  4. Thanks for your comments, Seonaid. On the seed head, yes, I love decayed things that hold on to beauty. But the reason that shot caught my eye was that the background looks like daff buds coming out but in fact it's just where some very bright sunlight came through the fence and hit the green stems.

  5. With the gramophone shot I would have focused in more on how the chrome arm reflects in the record, you can see it slightly in the picture but I think if this was the main focus it would have given a different feel.

I really like the composition and use of depth of field on the picture with the child and wheel.
