Great theme! I was particularly struck by the gated garden party. It looks quite innocent, but the cobwebbed black iron gates suggest it could equally be a mafia discussion of some dark purpose!
The staircase is fantastic - it's really interesting because of the handrail which refuses to follow the spiral, with kinks and cusps where you expect a smooth spiral.
The detail on the flower is, as Keith suggested, interesting, but it does lose the spiral-ness.
I like the theme you have gone for and I bet you cannot stop seeing spirals everywhere now, you have used black and white to good effect on the pictures you used it on, I particularly like the same as Rich with the garden party and the cobweb it looks so soft against the hard metal.
On the image of the floral column tops I don’t know if you are able to control your aperture on your camera, but I think this would have benefited from a smaller depth of field as it would have focused your eye more as I find it a busy picture visually.
Thank you for these comments. I totally agree, Steve, about the Depth of field. I was trying to achieve that by using as using a lower F number. I thought afterwards that maybe it was because the light wasn't very bright, the camera wouldn't let it go very low and I wondered whether I could have used a different ISO to force it down. Would that work? I suppose I should try it out.
Hi, The park picture jumps out at me really interesting; gets my imagination going. On the spiral staircase, which is a great picture I feel you could have tried to get a little more contrast between the shadows you have captured, the light and railing. As a theme, interesting perspectives and works well together.
