  1. Whoa! that last one's frightening! Love the flower closeups - the light seems unusual somehow and the veins and soft crumples are interesting.

I think the dog is nicely framed - how beautiful!

Interesting effect with the glass something on the metal engraved whatnot.

Finally, I love that picture frame - the wear and stains on the outer panels show it's been on a long journey. I think I might have been tempted to try it a little more closed up - to give some perspective, or to go further in, so the side panels were more ambiguous. But I might well have settled on the shot you took, too :-)

  2. Thanks Rich. The little portrait is my grandmother, born about 1880 It has a gold frame and is designed to be worn on a ribbon by the mother. It was given to me when I was a child and I just loved the leather case with its silk lining. I did try going in closer in a few ways, but it seemed to lose context.

The flower is a rose, one of a bunch and they just dried like that without shedding petals - I can't bear to throw them away.

    1. I like the texture that the ceramic ducks have and the last picture of the shell is very striking at first it looked like a close up of an eye with large lashes.

I also like the simplicity of the running water.
